Searching the Internet For an iPod Give Away

Type ‘iPod give away’ into your favorite search engine and you will find yourself staring at millions and millions of search results. For those few people who do not already own an Apple iPod and are looking to score one for free, one could deduce that the odds are strongly in their favor. Think again.

Although millions of websites say they are going to give away free iPods, as well as tons of other free stuff, the fact of the matter is your chances of winning seem to be pretty slim.

Many of the sites require you to fill out a survey, subscribe to an RSS feed, or share a link to the site with your friends on Facebook or Twitter. Seems harmless enough, but is it really appropriate to promote a site that you know nothing about, just for the slim chance of winning an iPod? Seems like a lot of work with some terrible odds, considering the amount of people vying for the same product.

Bloggers have gotten into the iPod giveaway game in a big way as well in an attempt to promote their sites to a broader swath of people. Among the tech bloggers, the Apple faithful are some of the most vocal. These guys and gals are also trying to increase their subscribers in order to bump up their advertising revenue. Most of these are legit, but the problem is the giveaways usually last several months. That’s right, months. So, you sign up for a giveaway and by the time you win, Apple has come out with a new product that is even better than the one before, the one you tried so long to win.

Many websites are trying to give away iPods for free. Navigating through all the trash to find the good and easy giveaways can seem daunting, but you just have to decide how much time you are willing to spend. Whether you are the type of person who has the time to jump through a bunch of hoops or fill out a few surveys, or sit on one site all day clicking a “Get It Free” button, good luck and happy hunting.
